This mini-watercolor is part of a series called “Reinterpreting Monks”. This painting is titled "Going Viking” and the original version was created by a monk, a nun, or hired woman illustrator to embellish documents during medieval times. I loved painting this in my version while thinking about the person that created the original hundreds of years ago.
